Repository Policy
The International Journal of Contemporary Security Studies embraces an open access philosophy and promotes the broad dissemination of research through self-archiving, in alignment with global standards for scholarly communication. Authors are welcome to share their work across a range of repositories and platforms, ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility.
Researchers are free to archive the following versions of their manuscripts:
-
Submitted version (preprint) – The version initially sent to the journal, before peer review
-
Accepted version (postprint) – The version that has passed peer review but has not yet been formatted for publication
-
Final published version (publisher’s PDF) – The fully formatted article as it appears in the journal
These may be uploaded to:
-
Institutional or departmental archives
-
Discipline-specific repositories (such as OSF or Zenodo)
-
General academic platforms (e.g., Academia.edu, ResearchGate)
-
Personal websites
-
Repositories required by funding bodies or research mandates
There are no delays or embargoes—authors may deposit any version immediately upon completion or acceptance, without restrictions.
To ensure proper citation and academic integrity, archived versions should:
-
Clearly identify the publication as part of the International Journal of Contemporary Security Studies
-
Indicate the version status (e.g., "submitted", "accepted", or "published")
-
Include a working link to the article’s DOI (for accepted and published versions)
All works in the journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing others to share, adapt, and build upon the content freely—as long as appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
