Abstracting and Indexing

The International Journal of Contemporary Security Studies (IJCSS), eISSN 3042-3988 and ISSN-L 3042-3988, is indexed, catalogued and discoverable through a growing number of scholarly information services.

To ensure transparency and avoid misleading claims, this page distinguishes between:

  • abstracting and indexing databases;
  • scholarly discovery services;
  • library catalogues and serial registries; and
  • DOI registration and metadata services.

Only services for which an active and independently verifiable journal or article record has been identified are listed below.

Abstracting and indexing databases

Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL)

IJCSS has an active journal record in the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL). The record identifies the journal title, publisher, subject area, publication frequency, online ISSN and current status. Published issues and article-level records are available through the platform.

Scholarly discovery services

Google Scholar

Articles published in IJCSS are discoverable through Google Scholar, an academic search and discovery service that indexes scholarly content from journal websites, repositories, publishers and other academic sources.

Google Scholar facilitates article discovery and citation tracking. Its inclusion on this page does not imply that it is a selective bibliographic indexing database equivalent to Scopus or the Web of Science Core Collection.

National library catalogues and serial registries

National Library of Serbia and COBISS.SR

The journal and its title history are represented in the COBISS.SR shared bibliographic catalogue, maintained within the Serbian library information system and supported by the National Library of Serbia.

The bibliographic record connects the current online title, International Journal of Contemporary Security Studies, and eISSN 3042-3988, with the journal’s preceding titles and publication history.

DOI registration and metadata services

Crossref and DOI infrastructure

Articles published in IJCSS are assigned individual Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). DOI registration supports persistent identification, reliable linking and machine-readable dissemination of article metadata.

Each DOI resolves to the relevant article or publication record, while complete DOI information is displayed on the landing page and in the PDF of each published article.

Crossref and DOI registration services are metadata and persistent-identifier infrastructures. They are not presented as selective bibliographic indexing databases.

Interpretation of coverage

The services listed above perform different functions. Inclusion in a library catalogue, DOI registry or scholarly search engine should not be interpreted as equivalent to selection for a curated citation database.

In particular:

  • CEEOL provides an active journal-level database record and access to issue and article information;
  • Google Scholar supports scholarly discovery and citation searching;
  • COBISS.SR provides national and international library cataloguing;
  • the ISSN Portal provides authoritative serial identification; and
  • Crossref and the DOI system provide persistent identifiers and article-level metadata services.
