Reviewer Certificates and Recognition

International Journal of Contemporary Security Studies (IJCSS) recognises the essential contribution of reviewers while preserving the confidentiality and independence of peer review.

Eligibility

A reviewer may request a certificate after submitting a complete review that meets the journal’s standards. Issuance confirms service only; it does not imply endorsement of the reviewer’s views or disclose the manuscript decision.

Certificate information

A certificate may include the reviewer’s name, journal title, year of service and authorised editorial signature or verification reference. Manuscript titles, author identities, confidential recommendations and review content are not included without an appropriate lawful basis and explicit permission.

Recognition

IJCSS may publish an annual acknowledgement of reviewers who consent to be named. Participation is voluntary, and declining public recognition does not affect future invitations. Recognition must not reveal which manuscript an individual reviewed.

Quality and integrity

Certificates are not issued for incomplete, abusive, conflicted, fabricated or substantially AI-generated reviews that fail to demonstrate independent expert judgement. The journal may correct or withdraw a certificate issued in error or obtained through misrepresentation.

Institutional reporting

Reviewers may use certificates as evidence of professional service, subject to their institution’s rules. IJCSS does not guarantee acceptance by external evaluation systems.

Requests

Requests should identify the relevant completed review through the OJS record and be submitted to the editorial office through the journal’s Contact page.
